TAKING PRECAUTIONS
ALTERATIONS TO NEW LINER GIGANTIC CELLULAR SIDES PROVIDED FOR. (Received April 23, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 22nd April. It is understood that the plans of the White Star liner Gigantic, now building at Belfast, will be altered to provide far cellular sides to the engineroom and stokehold. The Gigantic will also have cellular sides above the vraterfine, and a-t the other holds. BERLIN, 22nd April. Herr Delbrueck, Secretary of State for the Interior, speaking in the Reichstag, said that precautions for the safety of passengers were under active revision. VIENNA, 22nd April. The Austrian-Hungarian Government ie equipping liners with wireless telegraphy apparatus.
