Last night the patient was restless, and the improvement noted yesterday was not maintained. As the day wore on his strength .waned, and tho end came peacefully. CAIRO, 30th January. The Duke of Fife, accompanied by toie Princess Royal and his daughters, left Cairo- at tho end of December to ascend tho Nile in private dahabeahs, but his illness caused the journey to bo broken at Wady Haifa. Hie condition had been senoui cince Friday. King George, on board the Medina, was constantly informed of the bulletins by wireless. - Captain Fitzgerald and the Hon. John Ward have left Cairo for Assouan to assist the Princess Royal with the funeral arrangements. It is understood the body will be brc-aght to England on board a. battleship. The newspapers pay a tribute to the Duke's unbending loyalty, his probity towards his tenants, his deep religious convictions, and his devotion as a husband and father.
