Mr. Sol Green was a- prominent buyer, his purchases including Ingoda 800 gne, Watershoot 750 §ns, Bonetta (Bay Ronald— Frieequinetta) 75gns, Zemlia 400gns, Kora (Stepniak— Demeter) 750gns, and Petrovia (Stepniak —Ranee Nuna) ■550gns. Mr. Ernest Clark, of Victoria, took Demeter 300gns, Amigera 350>gn&, a yearling filly by Martagon from Ronotta 32Dgns, and a bay colt foal by Charlemagne 11. from Armigera at 170gns. Other liigh-claea lots that were acquired by Australian buyers were St. Regio 330gns, Ambrosine (St. Ambrose— Cissy) 200gns, Lady Landon (Seaton Dela-val — Robinilla) 300gn6, and Flambeau 230gns. Mr. G. D. Greenwood bought freely, and other New Zealand sportsmen that were in evidence were Messrs. W. G. and G. L. Stead, J. Buckley, J. F. Buchanan, J. F. Reid, A. Bruce Christie, and L. C. Hazlett. Not deterred by the poor market he recently found for hi» yearlings, the •Waikanao itudmaster, Mr. I. Duncan, was a bidder for numerous lots, the following of which he secured :—Shep-': — Shep-' herde« lOOgns, Ambush 40gns, Cyre 100 gns, Hamattan HOgns, Shawno (St. Ambrose— Sa.vannah) lOOgns, Fireside 70gns, and a br c foal by Charlemagne II. — Crimea 70gns. The two mares Stressa and Formula, offered on account of Mr. G. P. Donnelly, were passed in. The total price for the lot« sold was 18,935 guineas, or an average of rather more than 200 guineas.
