Campers on the beach at various points along the coast, from Levin to Paraparaiunu especially, had anything but a pleasant time during the recent spell of wefc weather, and those in tente more particularly so. Fishing and other ' pastimes had to be abandoned, and indoor amusements resorted to. During the hot weather, however, much sport was attained, and campers at Paraparaumu had the novelty of seeing several small sharks caught. ' i An important business change will probably bo announced here in the course of a few days, while an important sale of house property, also a substantial farm transaction will probably result. Up to the present no fresh developments have been made regarding the recent robbing of money from the residence of the Rev. Mr. Tumuera. The police, however, have a oluo. A man named Perkins was arrested here on Thursday night for drunkenness, and next day was brought before the Police Court and charged with the offence. He was lined 10e, and "threatened with a -prohibition order should he again appear before the Court.
