LODGE MEETING.
The Poneke Lodge (United Ancient Order Druids), held its meeting last evening, Bro. Hart, A.D., presiding. Sick pay amounting to £6 4s was passed for payment. Two candidates presented themselves' and were duly initiated. The halfyearly balance-sheet vras read. It showed the lodge to be in a sound financial condition. The auditors eulogised the servieea of the officers, and the way the lodge books were kept. A feature of the evening was a> presentation of a P.A. collar and 'diploma to Bro. Ridge. The presentation was made by the L\P. Visitors attended from the Star of New Zealand Lodge and Timaru Lodge.
The Grey town Dairy Company has this season been advancing to suppliers 9d per pound on the butter-fat. On Saturday a further advance of 3d was paid, making the advance at the rate of Is from the beginning of the season to 31st December. The total amount paid out on Saturday was £3242, which is the highest amount ever paid out by the company in one payment. On Saturday the company forwarded 250 cases of cheese for shipment by the lluahine. Egg essence ia advertised as ft "boon to hpugewmv'-
