MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M-, presided a\ tho Magistrate's Couti; toiday. Two first-offending inebriates were dealt with in the usual manner. Richard Boliea M'Millan , who wrt» found in a state of helpless drunkenness at Jobnsonvillfl, was convicted and ordered to nay medical and other expenses (£1 7s 6d) A young man named Wm. M'Enernej was charged with having committed an assault of an. aggravated nature upon Rose Fraser. Evidence was given that accused, during a quarrel, hit the woman •with a bottle. His 'Worship characterised the assault as a very cowardly one, and sentenced accused to one month's imprisonment. At Mount Cook Police Court this morning, Mr. J. Smith.' J.P., sent John Xrn«et Collins to goal for one month on » charge of drunkenness A first offslider waa convicted and discharged
