The premises are only to be temporary, and later a building specially adapted for bank purpose* will b« ' erected, and the headquarters made there. Tile present bank at Otaki will then be used as a receivingagency. The Maori Racing Club's privileges for the meeting to be held on 24rd and 25th September realised as follows:— Oufcsido gates, Mr. Harris, Palmerston North, £124; outside stand, R. George, £16; outside publicah's booth, Mrs. Higgins, £26; inside ditto, Mrs. Higgins, £66; horse j paddock, R, George, £3. The Otaki County Bill will be considered ob Thursday, , and a. ntitnocr , of prominent ratepayers for and against will attend at Wellington and place their Viows, before the Local Bills Committee. An organ recital will be giveii hero during the week by local residents to defray the costs inourred in renovating the organ I as the Church of England.
