MASTERTON MATTERS.
[ST TIL3SGBAPU— -SPECIAL TO THE POST.} _ MASTERTON, This Day. Influenza in an acute form is prevalent in this town at the present time. Local anglers are looking forward to the opening of the trout fishing season next month. The streams are said to be well stocked. A member of tho Masterton Chamber of Commerce has given hot^ce to move a resolution protesting against the alteration of^ the namo of the railway station at Kufipuni. The annual meeting of the Congregational Church was held test night, the Rev. A. Hodgo presiding over a largo audience. Tha annual report and balancesheet were presented, the latter showing a very satisfactory state of affairs. The Rev. W. A. I^vafcs, of Wellington, delivered a short address. From 20th December, 1910, to 30th June last, the amount of stock handled at tho Waingawa Freezing Works was as follows :— 69,383 sheep, 46,168 lambs, ?5? cattle, 135 pigs, 10 calves. It is confidently Anticipated that next year's returns will greatly exceed these figures.
