THORNDON METHODIST CHURCH

ANNUAL MEETING. There was a large attendance, in the Thorndon Methodist 'Church Schoolroom last night, when the annual meeting was held. ■ Tho Rev. E. 0. Blamires presided. The annual report was read and adopted. The Rev. J. Ward took the opportunity of welcoming the Rev. C. H. Olds, who is acting as minister of the Church during the absence of the Rev. T. Fee on twelve months' furlough. Messrs. Worboys (circuit steward), Moxham (society steward), W. Walton (trustees), Burd (choir), Joseph (Kaiwarra), Sims (Sunday School), and Boyd (Bible class), also spoke words of welcomo'to Mr. Olds, who, in replying, congratulated the Church on .its success of its anniversary gatherings. Mr. Olds made- a. strong appeal to members of the Church to aid him in his work by regular attendance at the Sunday morning, evening, and week-night services. The weeknight services should be made the ammunition factory for the Sabbath attack on the forces of darkness. He would be glad to help in the Sunday School and Bible class work, work in which he was much interested. He was sure that the Church would have a good year at Kaiwarra, as well as at Thorndon. During the evening musical items were contributed' by Mesdames Moxham and Strong, the Rev. Olde, and Messrs. Thawley, Strong, Smith, and Jacobsen. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded an enjoyable gathering.
