There have been many complaints that "tv/o-up" schools are rife among flaxmill employees in the Manawatu district, but the delinquents are very hard to run to earth. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, W. Hinchcliife, G. Jensen. G. Abraham, and A. Thompson were charged v/kh playing a game of chance in a Shannon street on Christmas Eve. Constable Essen stated that on the day mentioned he noticed a group of men in Vance-street, Shannon, tossing coins. Witness hid behind 'a fence about eight or ten paces away.
