ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
TRAGIC AFFAIR. • [by telegraph— phess association.} CHRISTCHURCH, 28th Jan. A tragic occurrence took place at Preb'bleton this" morning. Mrs. Easterbrook, a well-known resident, was found dead in bed by her brother, Mr. M'llree, who resided in Christchurch, but had been stopping at Prebbieton. M'Uree drove over to Lincoln to summon Dr. Cooke, who made the journey to Prebbieton in his motor-car. When nearing Prebbieton the doctor, who was driving behind M'llree, noticed him fall from his seat. The doctor stopped M'llree's horse, and, upon examining M'llree, found that he was dead. It is surmised that death was due in both instances to heart disease. Mr. M'llree was fifty-seven years of age. At the inquests touching the deaths of Mrs. Eaeterbrook and J. M'llre&, the verdicts in both cases were heart disease.
