John Drost, v farm hand, shot his father dead at North Bend, Washington State. When arrested Drost said: "I shot him be-cau.se I am Americanised. If we hid still lived in Holland I would not ha 'it done it, but here is the greatest coimL/ on earth, and no jury will convict me -when 1 tell them the motive." The daughter of the murdered man, in attempting to save her father, was badly wounded.
