THE TRAMWAYS BAND. _ «, The Tramways Band gave two performances yesterday — in the afternoon at Newtown Park and in the evening at the Town. Hail. A collection taken up in aid of the contest fund realised £17 10s. In the evening the contest selections were again given. Among the items on the programme were songs by Madame Mueller and Mr. E. Parkes. Mr. T. Goodall gave a comet solo, and Mr. S. Cimino was • accompanist. Both performances were very enjoyable, and the attendance large. The proceeds will be devoted for defraying the expenses of the band at the contest at Palmersfcon North. V.M.C.A. BOYS' DIVISION. «. On Friday last, between thirty and forty lads attended, the first meeting foi 1911 of the V.M.C.A. Boys' Division. An address was delivered by the Rev E. 0. Blamires, the well-known cricketer.
