HARRIERS.

BROOKLYN. On Saturday afternoon the Brooklyn., Harriers held their opening run from' 'Island Bay. The president of the club, .Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., in opening the season, wished the members every success during the coming year. Tbe trail led from Cliff House, along the range of hills towards town, then across to the hills in the opposite direction towards Haughton Bay, and back to starting point. . A run-in was held over a distance of about 300 yds, which resulted in a win for C. Murray, with W. N. Beaven and F. Hodson second and third respectively. After the run members, with their lady friends, spent the remainder of the afternoon at Cliff House. During the afternoon Mr. \V. H. Philip, vice-president of the club, made a presentation on behalf of the members to Mr. Wright. Tho run next Saturday will take place from Te Aro Baths. WELLINGTON. A good muster marked the informal run held at Mimmar on Saturday. An ea&y pace was maintained fiom Wonder- • land to Lyall Bay beath, where spriuting was indulged in, the pack returning to headquarters by way of the golf links and the eastern side of the suburb. Next Saturday the president. Mr. W. H. Bennett, will declare the season opened.
