WILSON DISQUALIFIED IN ONE EVENT. [BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, 3rd April. Considerable interest was taken in the two-n^ilc walking match between D. Wilson, of Auckland, and H. Kerv, of Wellington, which was decided at tho autumn carnival of the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club yesterday. The race was the outcome of the dissatisfaction expressed at the judge's action in the New Zealand Champion--ship walking races by Kerr and his party. In yesterday's race Mr. F. W. Coombes, sporting editor of the New Zealand Times, Wellington, but formerly of Auckland, was mutually agreed to by the competitors as judge. Wilson led for the first half-mile, when 'Kerr passed him. In the sixth lap Wilson was cautioned foi lifting. Kerr Kept in the lead until the straight was entered, when Wilson spurted. He had just headed Kerr when the judge called him off, and Kerr finished nlone. The milo was done in 7min 21 3-ssec, and tho two miles in 14min 21 3-sscc. In tho mile race, inAvhich botnmen took part from scratch, Kerr made most of the pace, but was passed 100 yards from home by Wilson, in a spurt, the latter eventually winning by three yards. Time, 6min 50sec. The judge said he was doubtful about Wilson in the concluding stages, but there was not break to justify calling him off.
