The keel plates of the Conqueror and Monarch (battleships) and the Piinceas Royal (cruiser) were laid to-day at the shipbuilding yards of Bcardmores, Armstrongs, and Vickers, Son and Maxim respectively. Th© Thunderer's keel will be laid at Blackwall on the 13th inst. The *urn of £347,609 has already been spent on preliminary preparations forthe construction of the »hipti. BATTLESHIP COLOSSUS. (Received April 2, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, Ist April. The battleship Colossus will be launched on the 9th April, at Clydebank. Her construction occupied eleven months.
