PROPOSED EXTENSION. By Telegraph.— Presa Association.— Copyright. VICTORIA, 30th March. The Hon. James Dunsmuir, LieutenantGovernor of British Columbia, has assented to an Act of the British Columbia Legislature relating to the extension of the Canadian Northern Railway to Batday Sound, an inlet on the w-est i>ide of Vancouver Island. The cost, apart from that of the Victoria ferry, will be 30,000,000 dollars (£6,000,000). Vancouver Island is separated from the mainland by Queen Charlotte Sound, and the Strait of Georgia.
