REFEREES IN CONFERENCE.
Along with the annual meeting of the New Zealand Referees' Association, { tho annual conference of the association wa« held yesterday. Mr. R. M. Isaacs presided. | Much time was devoted «o considering remits from the various associations. There was some discussion regarding referees' expenses, and it was decided that expenses incurred by referees acting in inter-union matches should be forwarded by them, compiled in accordance with the scale provided by the New Zealand Rugby Union. It was moved by Mr. Sievers— "That the New Zealand Rugby Union be written to, stating that the local associations affiliated to the N.Z.R.A. are anxious ■to know what has been done to bring into force the alterations to the laws of the game as provided by the last meeting of delegates." The motion was lost. ASSOCIATION. The St. John's team to meet Mental Hospital on Easter Monday will be :—: — Probert, West, Dick, Diamond, Brown, Hopkirk, Warner, Trovethick, Egley, Fraer, Williamson. Brake leaves Lamb-ton-quay at 1.30 sharp.
