RUGBY FOOTBALL.
NEW ZEALAND REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. . ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Referees' Association, held yesterday, was attended by the following delegates : — Messrs R. M. Isaacs (president, in the chair), A. Campbell (Auckland), F. Spurdle (Taranaki), A. Lees (South Taranaki), R. Dunkley (Wanganui), C. Cleland (Manawatu), J?\ A. Laws (Wellington), R. Henderson (Hastings), D. M'Carthy (Hawkes Bay), G. Logan (Nelson), L. Sievers (Otago), J. M. Robb (Southland), secretary. In the annual report it was mentioned that the season was uneventful. The association was in a thriving condition, the balance-sheet showing a credit balance of £20. No financial assistance was required from the No^y Zealand Rugby Union. The publication of the I handbook was justified, over 1000 copies being distributed. Owing to his leaving Wellington, Mr. H. E. Card had resigned from the Management Committee. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Officers were appointed as follow :—: — Patron, bus Excellency the Governor ; president, Mr. R. M. Isaacs; vice* presidents, Messrs. H. Card, G. Griffiths, C. W. Warden, L. G. Bassett, W. Home, W. Powdrell, A. Campbell, G. Proctor, A. G. Shrimpton, H. E. Hid dlestone, J. M'lntyre, and the presidents of the Southland and Otago Associations; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. M. Robb ; Management Committee, Messrs. J. H. Laughton, F. A. Laws, L. Riovers, G. Howe, F. A. Hetnpleman; auditor, Mr. C. H. Manson*. Nelson and Manawatu were elected metropolitan associations. It was agreed that name* of referees for intorunion matches should only be invited from metropolitan associations. Instructions were given that the handbook be republished this year. The secretary was voted a bonus of £10. It was decided that the next annual meeting be held at Wellington next Easter.
