LONDON WOOL SALES.
COMPETITION STILL BRISK. By Telegraph. — Press Association. — Copyright, LONDON, 11th July. At the wool sales yesterday there was a good attendance and fairly keen competition, but bidding occasionally dragged in the case of the shabbier sorts of crossbred. Several lots of Gee* long wools sold readily at late rates. Sales included the Waiau clip at 81d, Kilongbuta at 21£ d. To date 45,259 bales have been offered and 41.451 bales sold. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house :—: — "London Wool Sales. — Since fcha opening of the sales, on the 6th instant, prices, as compared with previous sales' closing rates, are about 5 per cent lower for merino scoured, greasy merino, medium, and coarse greasy crossbred, faulty descriptions; about 5 per cent. ,to 7^ per cent, lower for crossbred slipe ; and about 5 per cent to 7£ per cent higher for greasy merino, inferior, and coarse and medium scoured crosabied. Market steady at the decline."
