A FEILDING COMPLAINT.
[by telegraph— press association.] FEILDING, This Day. At the Borough Council meeting "last night, the Mayor stated that the Valuation Department was treating the coimcil to exasperating delay in regard to the supplying of the valuation roll. Although the roll was promised weeks ago, it is not yet to hand, and the council cannot get rate notices out and rates in. The Mayor said it Mas all very well for tho Minister to say that tho local bodies should assist the unemployed, but O'eilding, while desirous, was prevented from doing so by the dilatoriness of the \ aluation Department. Unless the 101 l soon came, the council would have to consider the question of reducing thy fc-r-manent staif.
