FALL OVER A CLIFF.
9 SUPPOSED DROWN ING FATALITY. [BI TELEGRAPH — PHESS ASSOCIATION.] TAIHAPE, This Day. Information -was received by the.pohce here this morning that Patrick Riley, single, aged 24, a navvy working at Kawatau, near Mangaweka, while riding last night with two mates to camp, disappeared over a cliff into the river. Riley rode behind the others, who received the first intimation of his loss by the riderless horse joining them. The men went back, and heard Riley call out from the river, but could not get to him owing to the high cliff. They went for police assistance. A search was promptly instituted, but was unavailing. It was renewed at daybreak, but so far without result.
