AUSTRALIAN MEAT.
THE CONDEMNED SHIPMENT. By Telegraph.-^Press Association.— Copyright SYDNEY, 7th May. With reference to the shipment of Australian mutton recently condemned in London, it is stated that it was shipped from Melbourne to the order of a firm of Sydney exporters after being twice officially inspected and passed as fair average quality in good condition. The principal of the firm concerned cannot understand the reasons of the condemnation. The firm, he pays, has been shipping for years, and has never before had a complaint. ' The meat in question was ewe mutton, and was officially classed as second grade. The carcases averaged 471b each. He cannot see how it is possible to describe the meat as wasted and emaciated.
