Considerable progress has been made in negotiations respecting three treaties covering all questions outstanding between the United States and Canada. The first of these treaties settles the use of common waters upon Canadian lakes ; the second submits the Newfoundland fisheries dispute to The Hague Tribunal ; the third relates to pecuniary claims.
