WELLINGTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
A SITE CHOSEN. After a long series of excursions and negotiations for sites, the movement to (Sitecnre for the Wellington Technical School a more suitable location than its 1 present seems to be approaching a successful issue. Intimation was made to. the City Council last night, by Councillor Luke, that the members of tho council's finance committoo and tho members of the Technical Board had come to an agreement regarding a site. "It is situated in the vicinity of Wallacestreet, and it has frontages to threa s ' streets— Wallace-street. Crawford-street, and Oliver-street— with the town belt, in its vicinity to form a playground. ' There is about an acre and a half in th& . section and there are two others border- , ing on' ifc which should be acquired.. There is one under offer to the City Council, but tho other section will need to be acquired under the Public Works Act, as the owner peruses to negotiate with the council or entertain any offers regarding a sale of the section. Councillor Luke expressed his opinion that the site was the very best one available, •especially when its central position waa kept in mind, and its close position to several tram lines. He wished the coun- * cil to give authority for entering into t agreements and baking any other steps necessary to acquire the sito, tis any • delay might be prejudicial.
