The weather is favourable, and the tracks in excellent order. There is a large attendance. Results :—: — Borough Handicap, six furlongs. — Little Mary, 6.12, 1; Ballarat, 7.5, 2; Erl King, 7.4, 3. Also started — Irish Rifle 8.1, Moriarty 7.11, Toa Tuhi 7.10, Woodhey 7.7, Probability 7.3, Kareroa 7.0, Gleam 6.7, Miss Vera 6.7. Ballarat made an early lun, with Little Mary handy. The latter finished at a great pace, winning somewhat easily. Time, lmin 15sec. / Wanganui Steeplechase, of 400 soys; labout three miles.— Tilson, 9.8, 1; Kaipetipeti, 10,3, 2; Nadador, 11.3, 3. Rangitoto held the lead for the first mile ; then Tilson led. Six furlongs from home Kaipetipeti took command, but was passed at the bend into the straight by Tilson, the latter winning by three lengths, easily. In the waterside workers' dispute the workers' xepresentative asked that the rate should remain as at present. The Judge commented on the fact that the workers had disturbed the present arTangement, which was explained; by the union's desire to, have both local freezing companies on the same basis.
