CITY COUNCIL AND TRAMWAYS COMPANY.

A CHANGE OF VENUE ASKED FOR

LIX TEtEGRArH. — PUE3S ASSOCIATION. J

AUCKLAND, This Day. Mr. Justice Edwards heard argument to-day on a motion for a change of venue of the action by the Auckland City Council, claiming £700 from the Electric Tramways Company for failing to provide suilicient rolling stock. • Counsel for the company did not think that with the present feeling in Auckland the company could get an impartial trial there. His Honour suggested that evidence might be taken here and foi warded to the Appeal Court for decision.

The company's solicitor desiring time to consider the proposal, His Honour said it appeared to be the only course, or they would have to take what they oould get from an Auckland jury. Argument was adjourned till Tuesday.

Miss F. Warren will resume her classes for piano pupils on Monday.
