In one case it appears that a preference applicant had been employed on the estate for a considerable- time, but left his employment ahoitly beforo tho land was actually acquired by the Government, in tho other the applicant was employed on another estate owned by MoHsrs. Robert Campbell and Sons, end had. it is staled, bean informed that he would lose his employment if Oiekaike was acquired by the Crown. After tho full facts wero disclosed Mr. M'Nab called the attention of tho Land Board to tha finding of the Solicitor-General, and tho board in turn h expected to rescind tho decision previously arrived at. .
