FEILDING RAM FAIR. [BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION .]
FEILDING, 6th February. The annual ram fair hold to-day \\as> attended by buyers from along both coasts, tho attendanco being cvou better than at tho previous year's fair. A commencement was made with tho Komneys, and bitlding opened dull. Every pen was well filled with all grades of entries. Tho prices in Romneys did not reach tho expectation of breeders, and this can be attributed to two causes— tho unsatisfactory season, and tho large supply. As a noted breeder mentioned to our Manawatu representative, many people havo tho Romncy fevor, and if breeders are not careful tho breeding of this olass of sheep will bo ovordolie. A reference to the Romney returns shows that at the present timo there are enough Romney rams in the Dominion, oxoluding all other sheep, to suffice for breeding purposes. Some of these, it must bo remembered, are of a very inferior class. Some of the Lirtcolns sold well, and Sir. W. Raynor, of Masterton, topped the list with a Etud ram, which changed hands at 30igs.
