SENTENCED. PRISONERS BEFORE SUPREME COURT.
TO-DAY'S PROCEEDINGS. Three prisoners came up for sentence before Mr. Justice Chapman in the Supreme Court to-day. UNLAWFULLY WOUNDING. Phyllis Ferraro, Avho had been found guilty of unlawfully Avounrling Gustaf Tamm, Avas set forward for- sentence. Mr. Wilford appeared for accused, and asked for leniency, en the ground that previous to the committal of the offence she had been herself assaulted. His JDondm- said tha jury had 'recommended the accused to leniency, and ho should not disregard that recommendation. But ha did not see that he could dispense AA'ith imprisonment. . Prisoner would be sentenced to four months' imprisonment Avith hard labour.
