FIRE BRIGADES ACT.
THE POSITION OF INSPECTOR. At the meeting of the Cabinet yesterday, the question of appointing an officer as Firo Inspector under the Firo Brigades Act of last session was considered^ The Government proposes to call for applications for thi>^position at oiicp. Th" appointment will be made as soon as the" applications have been sent in. Alluding to the Act itself, the Hon. Dr. Findlay stated to a Post representative to-day that it seemed to him the provisions of the statute had bfru taken advantage, of very widely, and it appeared as if. all the local bodies qualified to adopt the Act would adopt it.
