A PROPOSAL FOR FEDERATION. [aX TEtEGKAPF. — mESB ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. A proposal to federate the unions is causing much interest in Auckland labour circles. Mr. Arthur xuisser, president of the Trades and Labour Council, agrees that tho principle is good, but that such federation would bo too unwieldy and costly. Mr. G. Davis, representative of numerous Auckland labour organisations, says the only chance of tho workers lies in federation, since tho employers have done likewise. Last night the Amalgamated Society oi Engineers decided to warmly support tho movement, as tho only palliative- of the troubles besetting labour.
