The ballet for thirty sections in the Raumati Block recently purchased by the Government, near Dannevirke, took place this nvwning. There was no great nish for tho sections, which were generally considered high-priced, and twelve uerc riot taken up. The exceptionally dry season, and the fact that the regulations compel the payment of eleven months' rent in r-dvance, also contributed to' the dearth oil applicants. Seventeen applicants. Section 7, Block XVI., John Massey, Meanee, Hawke's Bay. Section 8, Block XVI., J. M. Simpson, Wellington. Section 9, Block XVI., lictilia Johnston, Mangatoro. Twelve applicants. Section 10, Block XVI., William Shaw, St. Albans, Christchurch. Five applicants. Section 13, Block XVI., Mrs. Price, Dannevirke. Three applicants. Section 16, Block XVI., William Webster. Five applicants. Section 18, Block XVI., Elizabeth Hart, Maharahs ra. Four applicants. Section 19, Block XVL, W. J. Price, DanneA irke. Only applicant. Section 21, Block XVI., Arnold Forsaith, Lower Hutt. Only applicant. Section 22, Block XVL, R. J". Stevenson, Ohau, Canterbury. Only applicant. Sections 51, 54, 55, 2, and 28, 3 and 29 (bracketed), 6, 11, 12, 14, .15, 17, 20 were not applied for, but several applications were handed in after the ballot. These will be balloted for by the new applicants at Napier to-morrow.
