A MESSAGE FROM THE SEA. IS IT GENUINE?

A boy playing at Munukau Heads* found a bottle containing tho following written on half a sheet of notepaper * — "Pleasure boat in distress; broken down whilst out for a sail about fifty miles outside Manukau Heads Name of boat Terawhiti. Anybody finding this will they please send help." It is signed "Sydney James." Captain Neal, harbourmaster, inclines to the belief that the letter is a hoax, but has instructed masters of vessels to keep a look-out at sea for a craft such as described.
