ATHLETIC SPORTS.
An excellent means of passing Saturiday afternoon will be oflered to the public next ' Saturday, when the Wellington Centre of (he New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association will- conduct a sports meeting in the Basin Reserve. Large entries have been received for the several events, which are to be contested over distances the same as those fixed for the New Zealand championship contests, to be held in this city early next year. The form shown at Saturday's meeting will be taken as a guide in the selection of candidates to represent Wellington Centre at the championship meeting.
