NATIONAL MUTUAL LIFE ASSOCIATION.
Mr. Orton Stevens, manager for New Zealand, has received the following cable message from Melbourne : — "The thirty-eighth annual meeting of the association is being- held at Melbourne today. Annual report shows that the new business for the year exceeded three millions, being two hundred and thirty thousand more than last year, and a record year for the association. The total income is nine hundred thousand pounds, and tho expenditure five hundred and thirty thousand pounds.'; The amount added to the assurance fund as the rcsnlt of tho year's working is three hundred and seventy thousand pounds, the total funds being nearly five millions. The triennial investigation is now being made, and members may anticipate a good bonus early in the new year." The local directors are Messrs. A. E. Pearce (chairman), Wm. Fiaser, M.H.R., and Nicholas Reid.
