Canterbury, was resumed to-day in perfect weather. _ The wickot is beginning to wear a littlo. Branston and Curwen resumed the English team's innings. Curwen, batting freely, brought the second century up. At 12.15 the score was 224 for seven wickets — Branston (not out) 40, ' Curwen (not out) 7. At 12.30 tho Englishmen declared their innings closed with a total of 260 for 9 wickets.
