SATURDAY'S DOINGS AT TRENTHAM. It was anticipated that there would be busy doings at .Trenlham last Saturday, but in the ond only a half-hundred marksmen mustered. Tho arduous week of drill and duties passed by tho Wellington Rifle Battalion in thoir annual training camp, which terminated on Saturday morning, made the members disinclined for tho pursuit of the elusive "possible," and not n singlo company of thn battalion hod representation amongst the marksmen, though three Highland Rifles mustered at duty's cull to superintend the shooting on mound and in trunch. Thevo was iv imiall muster of tho Permanent Forces, und a very fair turn-out of ths Wollington Engineers and the Karori Rtflis Clubo— it is a cold day tudeed when theso companieo do not muiter well— to represent tho garrison, tho total muster being 65. KARORI RIFLE CLUB. A competition was concluded for trophies presented by Mr. A. C. Pcarco and tho club. Conditions wore six matches, fivo to count. After a close finish, W. Torr won Mr. Pcarce's trophy with 273 points, G. HaJHday 272, G. H. Chapman 268, and H. Head 261 winning the others. The position of tho club's champion aggregate is now: J. Burns 458, G. Halliday 450, W. Tarr 444, H. Marshall 431,' H Bulford 427, n. Head 426, W. Jackson 426. The ranges usod for this competition wore 200 and 500 yards. H. Marshall put on top scoro with 65 points, Head, W. Tarr, and H. Bulford being next with 61 points each. Next Saturday the club will commence a new scries at the 800 and 1000 yards.

PETONE RIFLE CLUB. A Class competed for trophies presented by Mr. W. Judd and tho Scoullar ComPRny, and B CIaES for thoso presented by Messrs. C. F. Baudinet, F. Gadeby, and D Fraser, scoreis also counted for Mr. W. «. Cook c medal, which was won by C. J. Hollard with 544 points, .1. Roberts being the runner-up with 538.
