His experience shows' tbaWhe English rat suffers from plague, while the brown, or Norway, rat apparently does not. Moreover, tho latter exterminates the English rat, To this is pupposed to be due the present immunity of Western Europe from plague. OUTBREAK IN BRISBANE. BRISBANE, This Day. Sixteen casjs of plague, sev«n of which have resulted fatally, have been reported.
