EXTRA EDITION. THE TENNIS TOURNAMENT.

TO-DAY'S PLAY. NOTES ON THE GAMES.

The tennis tournament was resumed this morning at the College grounds in brilliant sunshine, but with prospects of wind. The event that progressed most during the forenoon to-day is the Men's Championship Singles. At time of writing, Borrows, Wallace, Parker, Swanston, Fisher, Goss, and Dickie have found their way Into the fourth round, and Laishley (to meet Borrio ip third round) will almost certainly do so too, so that these players will fight for the semifinals. Wallace was beaten by White in the first set of the third round, but the latter apparently found the effort too tiring, and resigned. The Christchurcli player Borrows got an easy passage through at Bell's expense, as did Parker with regard to Young, and Swanston with regard to Bauohop. Fisher played carelessly against Quill, but got through comfortably. Dickie is playing fair tennis, and there are hopes that he or Fisher, Swanston, or Laishley may oxtend Parker. Ihe champion's form, however, seems to negative any chance of a surprise. Results are as follows: — MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. Third Round : A. Borrows beat A. Bell, 6—3, 6—l, 6—l; W. Goss beat H.
