ASSOCIATION.
Tho meeting of the Wellington Football Association was last evening presided ovor by Mr. M. Fraser. It was docided to close the entries for the third class Henderson Memorial Cup with Mr. B. L. Salmon to-morrow, and to stayt the first mateh — between St. John's and Ramblers — on Satuiday. The Ladies' Hockey Association was granted the use of No. 9 ground Miramar on Saturday, owing to tho junior nmtchea being suspended. Arrangement* m connection with the visit of the junior representative team to Nolion thw ovoning were completed. Mr. A. Williams has been appointed mannger, and Mr. F. S. Elson captain of the team. Entries for tho Chaxity Cup competition are to cloeo with the secretary next Wednesday. ' Tho termination of tho Shield competition i« to be considered after Saturday's round of matches is concluded.
A novel method of p-epafiug a floor for dancing was adopted iv Napier tho other day. A motor car waa ruu> leneatedly over bho floor, and in that way a capital surface was obtained*. The Hamilton Gas Company haa declared, tv dividend of X) per cent.
