COMMUNICATION RESTORED. fPRKSiI ASSOCIATION. 1 LONDON, 30lh May. Tho Joughon of Mhigatsu, commanding the Tibetan fort at Gynngtse, has recalled all outlying po&ls, fearing British raids on neighbouring villages. Five hundred are evacuating Niani Monastery, tho British having rendered tho monastery unfit for military occupation. Tho fort furiously but fruitlessly fired on tho British while returning to camp. Communication with the rear has been re-opened. SEVERE FIGHTING WITH THE NATIVES. ASSAULT ON A VILLAGE. (Roceived May 31, 10.16 a.m.) LONDON, 30th May. Tho Tibetans attempted to build a wall uniting tho villago of Palla w it'll their fort, for tho purpose of outflanking the ' British forces. Major Brunker attnoked i them on the 26th, nnd the fighting lasted i eleven hours. When tho wall was destroyed three others wero diecovered inside. Major Patterson, of the 23rd Pioneers, attacked tho villago from t'ho south. Liout. Garwtin was killed in leading the assault ; also three Sepoys, Captain O'Connor and Lieut. M'Chell were severely wounded, and Lieut. Walker slightly. Nine men were wounded. Tho Tibetans lost heavily. Thirtyseven prisonors wero taken. _____
