Two performances of "The Messenger Boy" were given by the Pollards at the Opera House on Saturday, both being well attended, This evening "The Gondoliers," one of <£he prettiest and most tuneful of the Gilbert and Sullivan series, is to be revived, in connection with which it is noteworthy that Mr. Charles Carter, who is leaving the cpmpany in October in order to visit England, will take his last character part during the present season. He will appear a* Marco, and the remaining characters will be assumed as follows t —Gionetta, Miss Gertie Campion; Tessa, Mies Nina Osborne; Casilda, Miss Connie Buttel; the Duchess, Miss Marie Metcalf ; Qui•eppe, Mr. D. O'Connor { Luiz, Mr. J. Ralston j the Duke, Mr. A. Stephens. The Gaiety artists presented a fresh programme at the Theatre Royal en Saturday mght.
