ONSL OW BORO UGH CO UNCIL

The Onslow Borough Council met on Saturday night. There were present — The Mayor (Mr. J. Holmes), Councillors Aplin, Neely, Gardiner, Nash, Cavanagh, Hannah, and Uark. The Mayor wa:i appointed to represent the Council at the election of representatives of the local bodies on the Hospital Trust and Benevolent Trust. ft Mr. ; L. H. B. Wilson waited on the Council in reference to the sub-division of the Nairn estate at Crofton. The Council agreed to the widening of the Ngatoto district from 40ft to 66ft, on condition that the road was properly - formed and metalled. It was decided to inform Messrs. Outline and Hickey that their request to be allowed to take metal from a spot next to Major Deane's properly at Crofton could not be acceded to, as the Council intends to work the quarry itself. Councillors iSioely, Cavanagh, and Aplin were appointed a Works Committee. Mi 1 . John Flaws was appointed to look after the lighting ,oif the Borough lamps. Pel-mission was given to Mr. P. N. Cameron to remove a strip of earth from the side of the Hutt-road, between tha Manawntu railway bridge und Kaiwarra. The Council decided to take action to secure the abatement of a nuisance near Tinakori-road.
