DUNEDIN, 9th November. There was a good attendance at the Taieri races, when tin?. Oup was won by Witchcraft, 7st 31b; Edelweiss, 9st, 2; Maremma, 9st lllb, 3. Dividend, £2. Flying Haadwiap— Witheraft, Bst, 1-j ' Quick Shot 11., 7st 51b, 2; La Reine, 9st, 3. Dividend, £9 Bs. There was a' demonstration against the judge, and G. M'Gorian, the owner of Quick Shot, 11., was fined: £10 for using insulting language to the officials. There was amother olose finish" in the hack race, the concluding event, between Gladys 11. and Uknsi9. The judge decided- Jii favour- of the former, which pa&l |J7 16S, etnd there was another hostile demonstration.
