IN THE CAUSE OF SPORT. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir— As m intending visitor to- the Spring Meeting at the Hutt on the 22nd and 24th inst., I would suggest to tjhe Secretary of the Wellington Racing Club the advisability of approaching the Railway Department to arrange for the issue •of excursion ticket^ to Wellington from New Plymouth on one side and from Napier on the other. I feel sure tlae concession would be appreciated, and fee the means of bringing a large number of sports from this district to view the .races under notice. At present excursion tickets may be obtained on the 13th and 24th inst." for Falmerston Show, available for return up to 3rd December. Therefore, if the Wellington Racing Club can obtain similar reductions for tickets to be issued, say, on the 19th and 20th inst., available until, say, the 3rd December, an increased attendance of visitors from this district would be sure to follow. This would also allow them to witness Feilding races on the way back. I am, etc., TABANAKI. New Plymouth. 7th Nov., 1900.
