A BISHOP ON WAR.
(Received May 30, 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Bishop of Newcastle (Right Rev. Dr. Stanton), in his opening address to his synod, said that as in the natural ■world volcanoes and storms vere instrumental in doing good, so war, hateful and horrible though it be, was a rough agent to realise the same end. The Transvaal struggle revolved itself into a question of the survival of the fittest.
