THE RIOT AT ST. HELIER'S.
• LONDON, 29th May. A female shopkeeper who provoked the riot at St. Helier's, in Jersey, on Mafeking day, was sentenced to four days' imprisonment. The Right Hon. W. St. John Brodrick, Parliamentary Secretary to the War Office, and M. Cambon, the French Minister in London, made representations with regard to the disturbances. The Governor of Jersey has accordingly taken every precaution to prevent a recurrence of such scenes.
