♦ "BOXERS" NEARING PEKIN. JAPAN LANDS A MARINE FORCE. [riIBSS ASSOCIATION.] (Received May 30, 9.10 a.m.) HONGKONG, 29th May. The Chinese rebels known as the "Boxers," whose ravages in the northeast part of the kingdom have lately been the subject of much concern, are now plundering within twenty miles of Pekin. Japanese warships have landed a force of bluejackets at Tientsin, on the Peiho River, which forms the river port of the capital.
