The Bushmen's Contingent Fund now ivmounts to over £21,000. MELBOURNE, This Day, The Board of experts which was appointed to examine the saddlery muue for the Victorian Contingent, in view of the severe criticism passed upon it in the Legislative Assembly, reports that, considering the rush, the work is ar^ average lot. The Board found that some of the stir-rup-straps and girths were defective, out these faults could be remedied during fche voyage. Three saddles were condemned. The Commandant, in the light of the official explanation, considers that the fault chiefly lies in the policy of economy preventing the Government from keeping a., stock of saddlery.
